European composers participate in EU Culture Sector Platform
Jun 30th, 2008 | By admin | Category: NewsThe three platforms “Intercultural Dialogue”, “Access to Culture” and “Cultural Industries” are currently working on recommendations to be presented during the Culture Forum in September in Brussels (see below). One of the main aims is to take part in the structured dialogue between the political stakeholders (member states, EU) and the culture sector.
The European Composers Forum is actively participating in the Working group #5 of the “Cultural Industries” platform which is to suggest their recommendations on 8 to 10 June in plenary sessions. These recommendations will - in their final version - be presented to the “European Culture Forum”, taking place from 28 - 30 September 2009 in Brussels.
The aim is to bring together around 600 participants from culture civil society, Member States and EU institutions. The Forum will be organised around the 3 priorities of the Cultural Agenda: Intercultural Dialogue, Cultural Industries and External relations, with an emphasis on Culture and Innovation as the European thematic year in process. A further implementation of the Platforms’ recommendations into European cultural policy and into the future agenda of the European Commission is strongly intended, too.
