On Friday, March 6, 2009 three Dutch organizations of composers (BIM: Professional Association of Improvisators; C’96: Composers ‘96, and GeNeCo: Society of Dutch Composers) have founded the “Union of Composers in The Netherlands”. This new federation of composer’s organizations will serve the collective interests of its members as well on national as on international level. Together with (European) sister organizations it will try to develop a policy finding answers to the increasing political and economic threats to which contemporary composers and improvisators are exposed.
